Ventilation

Plastic windows also need proper and healthy ventilation.

SULKO windows are characterized by high tightness. Moisture in the apartment (arising from cooking, bathing, but also breathing or growing flowers) has nowhere to escape and condenses mainly on the glass if it is not ventilated in time. It is necessary to remove warm room air with a high humidity content by rapid ventilation for about 2-3 minutes, while it is advisable to turn off the heating elements during this time. This ventilation should be carried out 2-5 times a day, depending on the use of living quarters.

With impact ventilation, the interior of the room cools to a slight degree, so that fresh air warms up with only a slight expenditure of energy. In order not to form condensate on the glass, it is recommended to ventilate so that the humidity in the apartment does not exceed 50%.

A few useful tips

  • if possible, do not dry the laundry in the apartment, and when cooking, use the hood and close the door to other rooms
  • Also keep the bathroom door closed when bathing or showering and then ventilate the bathroom with a window or fan
  • even plants in the apartment can be a source of moisture, the “forest” definitely does not benefit the microclimate in the living room
  • heating elements need to be placed under the windows so that by natural circulation the cold windows are “washed” with warm air
  • internal blinds on the glass greatly limit the movement of air along the glazing, so-called cold pockets can form and condensation will occur in them, so on cold days you better pull the blinds to the upper position
  • Flowers on the windowsill and heavy curtains can also limit the access of warm air to the glass
  • wide window sills should be provided with vents for air movement
